We are pleased to announce: Michael Shane Neal will be conducting a rare portrait Master Class at the Jack Richeson School of Art. Limited to 30 students, participants will be painting from live models in our spacious studio with one–on–one instruction, demonstrations, and lectures throughout the week. Each student will receive a nearly 200 page workbook compiled by Neal to complement the week’s studies. Sketches and studies from demonstrations will be available for purchase. If you have not taken a workshop from Shane in the past, you need to submit three photos/images of portrait/figure work done from life that will be reviewed to ensure this workshop will be appropriate to your skill level. This week’s class will kick off on Sunday night with a reception honoring the 2008 Figure Portrait Competition finalists, with the winners selected by Neal announced that evening.
Michael Shane Neal is among the most sought after young portrait artists in America today. Recently receiving commissions to paint such luminaries as Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, former Majority Leader and U.S. Senator Robert C.
