Richeson Fine Artist Brushes

We strongly encourage you to always test a brush in the store before purchasing it. Some basics to look for are the point, snap and loading ability on rounds, and the point, snap and chisel on flats. Most dealers of Fine Art Supplies will have water available in the brush area to test these features. We also recommend that you work out the sizing before testing a brush. (Sizing is a starch-like substance that is used to maintain a brush's shape during shipping). After the sizing is removed, thoroughly wet the brush, tap the brush handle twice against your hand to remove excess water and check to see if the brush comes to a sharp point on a round, or a sharp chisel on a flat.
