“I think these paints are fantastic. The mineral colors, and there are many, have an incredible granulation. This is very important to me because I am a landscape painter and texture is critical. I have noticed years ago that John Singer Sargent’s watercolor paintings – particularly when using ultramarine blue – have this type of granulation. I have ordered this color from many different companies but all of their milling is too fine and the granulation does not happen.“
”What I am saying is that there is a character to these colors that is unique and while it may not be for every painter, there will be many that will respond to these paints if they know all they have to offer”
Stephen Quiller
This 93 color line contains only the highest quality color pigments which have been selected for purity and lightfastness. Each color in the line has been formulated to achieve maximum pigment concentration and color strength consistent with good handling properties and stability. Because no fillers or extenders are used in Quiller Acrylics, most colors dry to a natural gloss while those with larger pigment particles create more satin finish. Quiller Acrylics have a smooth buttery texture that retains brush and knife marks, yet is not stiff or difficult to manipulate. They allow the user to create bold, crisp impasto effects normally associated with oil colors.
When combined with the Stephen Quiller Acrylic line these mediums can help the artist expand the richness of their paintings by adding to the textures, effects and finishes available to them, creating endless possibilities and enhancing the individual style of any artist.
