The Road Ahead

So where do we go from here? I find art museums just fantastic, but they only exhibit the great Masters of the past. I find galleries wonderful because they show the works of today’s Masters. But I also find them very intimidating for the new first time buyer. The works are all from the “greats of today”. Where can the “greats of tomorrow” show and get exposure?

So on to the new venture. In November of 2004, we broke ground on a 25,000 square foot addition to our building, allowing us to make room for the Jack Richeson School of Art and Gallery. Our family has a collection of over two hundred paintings that are on display as part of a permanent, not–for–sale, collection. Then, one third of the gallery is reserved for well–known contemporary painters to exhibit their work. The last and most important third is for new and unknown painters. We want them to get exposure.

In the middle of the building is our class room. We are proud to utilize local teachers to teach every variety of art. Once a month we bring in a nationally known painter for a special workshop. We plan on opening the Art School two nights a week for local painters to come in and paint, chat and talk about their work. We have also committed that they can use the meeting room for their monthly meetings. And this is only the beginning!

I have been allowed to make a great living and meet some of the world’s greatest painting talent. It’s now pay back time and we are going to start paying back for the privileges given me… Thank you painters everywhere!
